Diesel Performance and the 6.2L Engine: There are some modifications that can be made to the 6.2L to receive better fuel economy and performance. Most of the modifications would include air intake, exhaust, fuel injection system and timing changes. When making any performance modifications to the 6.2L extreme caution should be used because the 6.2L has 34 head bolts and they are stretch type. Any excess heat applied to the stretch bolts and they will stretch causing a failed head gasket condition.
